Welcome to the Beautiful Country of Nicaragua.
I don’t think this is what the Captain exactly meant when he said “Could you please check under the hood!”
After a long day of traveling the Camino Real Managua was a comforting site.
There was even a gambling casino on the resort.
The resort even had a bird sanctuary filled with exotic birds.
The resort was a magnificent place. Its pool area was surrounded with Royal Palms, exotic plants and shrubs.
From its grounds to its lobby showed comfort and class around every corner.
You will see about every type of transportation known to man on
CA 1. The Nica (local Nicaraguan) in the two wheel cart has his burrow galloping to keep up with traffic.
In almost every town or city we passed through there was a monument stating a short history on how the community came about. The town shown is Masaya. Masaya also has a volcano with its name sake just to its west.
The mountain seen in the background is actually Mombacho volcano. It is located just outside of Granada’s city limits.
The island of Ometepe on Central America’s Lago de Nicaragua was formed by two volcanos. One is named Maderas and the other is Concepion.
Lago de Nicaragua is the largest lake in the Americas and is home to Nicaragua’s move towards eco-friendly energy.
San Juan del Sur

Park Avenue Villas in the town of San Juan del Sur would be our home base for the next 30 days.
The veranda at the hotel offer some of the best views in town.

The statue of Jesus stands over 449 feet above the San Juan del Sur Bay and measures 121 feet from his head to the base.
The lush hillside jungles play backstop to the Pacific Ocean and its beautiful shore line cliffs.

The local fish market is always busy in the early morning.
The main street or also known as the Malecon, is where a lot of the action is.
San Juan del Sur offers culture and parts of the past traditions that can be seen every single day.
The people are very inviting and look at life in a simply way.
