Paul Scopel
Paul Scopel: Resident Guest Writer, Researcher, Author, CPA and CFE.
Paul’s skillsets include research and writing skills developed in 44 years working with Fortune 500 corporate giants. As a certified public accountant and a certified fraud examiner, Paul tenaciously merges his natural curiosity and professional skepticism to uncover the treasures underlying his objectives. Throughout his career, Paul is described as a “teacher-professor” keen on mentoring novices to his circles and eager to share his discoveries. His objectives include family and social relationships, travel, photography, hiking, gold panning, genealogy, and foodie discoveries. Paul’s travels have taken him to twenty countries in Europe, Asia, and North America, and half of the United States. While doing genealogical research, Paul discovered Tony as a distant cousin and Tony discovered Paul as a contributor to YMATD! As a recent retiree, Paul relishes having time to grasp these as well as the duties of being a recent grandfather. A native of Texas transplanted to the Southeastern US, Paul and his wife and six cousins are planning another adventure to Italy and Scotland this year as well as seeking new domestic discoveries. Visits to Australia, Canada, and Maine are on their agenda for the not too distant future.
