Havana’s Cars & Cigars

Tony Scopel Posted onMay 27, 2024 Comments are off 464 Views

Havana, Cuba is well known for their classic cars and premium cigars. When experiencing Havana’s world famous stogies and nostalgic road warriors, you feel as if you stepped back in time. These icons are what Rand Scopel and his wife Shelly focused on with their latest trip to Havana.

Havana is the largest city and the Capital of Cuba. It is a tropical island nestled in the Caribbean Sea The city was established in 1515 by Spanish explorers. It was a vital port for the Spaniards conquest of the Americas.

In the 1950’s, Cuba was a popular destination for the Americans. By the mid century, the United States had over a billion dollars invested in Cuba. But after its revolution, political controversy split the two countries apart.

Never the less, Havana has held onto many of America’s nostalgic cars. It also kept it’s reputation for having some of the world’s finest cigars. It’s not hard to imagine cruising along in a classic convertible with a Cuban cigar between your fingers.

Rand and Shelly Scopel provided us with plenty of fabulous photos featuring Havana’s cars and cigars. We here at “You, Me and The Dock” put together a special slide show. It shows how the Cuban people have preserved and restored some of America’s greatest automotive ingenuity and at the same time, enjoying some of the finest tobacco ever grown. It’s like stepping back in time.

The following video is filled with photos taken from
Rand and Shelly’s visit to Havana.
They are professionally photographed and unedited.
So, sit back, kick your feet up, and enjoy the show!
