Connecticut’s Mystic Aquarium is an attraction that shouldn’t be passed over when visiting the area. Anthony Scopel here with the travel site “You, Me and The Dock”.
I had the opportunity to film several segments while visiting the Aquarium this fall. I will be writing and posting photos in between the brief videos.
The first video will give you a glimpse of the Beluga Whales and Penguin’s outside exhibits. From there it will take you inside where there are plenty of smaller aquariums filled with lots of sea life.
The up close exhibits are filled with a variety of fish, frogs and other aquatic creatures. Take note on not only the tank’s main attraction, but the other various marine life that occupies the exhibit as well.
One of my favorite exhibits is the shark and stingray tanks. For being an inland Aquarium, it had quite a collection of Bull, Sand-tiger and Shortfin Mako Sharks.
They also have a petting tank where people can actually touch the sharks and stingrays themselves. The striped smaller sharks in the shallow petting tank are White-spotted Bamboo Sharks. “Insert your and at own risk!”
What would a visit to an Aquarium be without seeing a “Sea Lion show”! One of Mystic Aquarium’s most popular attractions is a show that last approximately thirty minutes. It is included in the general admission and shouldn’t be missed.
The trainers put together an amazing production that includes an up close view of the sea lions themselves. There really isn’t a bad seat in the house. Sit back and enjoy the video.
I hope you enjoyed the series of videos that ‘You Me and The Dock’ provided for your entertainment.
The Connecticut’s Mystic Aquarium is a great attraction for the whole family. Take a half day and enjoy all the exhibits, have lunch and then watch the sea lion show. The aquatic eight legged crustacean watched as we passed by seemingly to be waving in hopes to see us again!
