SW Florida’s Estero Island is a very beautiful place. I decided to take the drone out and video several parts of this amazing island. We started mid island – Newton Park, and worked our way north to Bow Ditch Park. From there we moved south of mid island to do our final shoot.
Estero Island is also home to the town of Ft Myers Beach. This quaint little island community enjoys its seasonal guests, but then relaxes during the off-season. Ft Myers Beach was officially established as a town on December 31st, 1995. Every New Years Eve they go all out celebrating not only the New Year, but the town’s birthday as well.
Shown right – is a view of Old San Carlos Blvd. Its colorful buildings and palm tree lined streets give this unique little town lots of beach personality.
The first video will give you an idea what people see once they crossover the Matanzas Pass bridge. Looking across Ft Myers Beach, the fabulous emerald green water, and the endless horizon will simply take your breath away. Sit back and enjoy the views!
Seeing Estero Island at a slightly higher altitude gives you a true sense of how beautiful South West Florida’s shoreline really is. The miles of white sand beaches stretch as far as the eye can see.
As we elevate the drone a little higher, you will get an awesome view of this seven mile long island. There are quite a few spots where you can enjoy the day taking in the sun and cooling off in the Caribbean fed Gulf water.
This next video was taken more towards the south end of the island. The video shows an incredible parcel of beach that is approximately 200 yards in depth. From 250 plus feet above sea level, the white sugar fine sand glistens under Florida’s bright – late morning sunshine.
There is a small preserve and watershed shown in the video where from May 1st to the end of October, Sea Turtles maneuver their way onto the beach to lay their eggs. The video also does a 360 degree rotation showing other parts of the island as well as the back bay. Checkout the beach and the surrounding scenery!
