The Endless Summer Cruisin car show is an annual event that happens on Ocean City, Maryland’s iconic boardwalk. This motorhead rally celebrated its 25th Anniversary in October 2022. Along with the thousands of show ready autos, there was plenty of live entertainment, and camaraderie.
Hello again. This is Anthony and I will be your narrator for this final segment of our visit to Ocean City, Maryland’s Boardwalk. This particular adventure will appeal more to the person who loves classic cars and the sound of roaring engines! There will be early morning car parades, car shows, a variety of celebrities, and major auto-related vendors showing off their latest accessories. Lets get revved up and on the road!
For the next several mornings there will be hundreds of cars parading from 27th St, proceeding down Baltimore Avenue, and then south on 2nd St. Afterwards, the cars will gather in a designated area on the east side of the boardwalk next to Jolly Roger Amusement Park. Here is where people can get up close to these beautiful machines! This is a family friendly event!
Even though weather conditions hampered the 25th Endless Summer Cruisin Car Show, there was still a large turnout for exhibitors and spectators alike. With camera and video equipment in hand, I set out to get as much coverage as possible. Not only am I a car enthusiast, but love the warm weather and the Atlantic ocean breeze to which both were present.
I took lots of photos and there is no way I can put them all in one blog-article. With that said, I went ahead and selected some of my favorites. This fire engine red with yellow flames looks to be a customized classic 1950 Mercury.
The super charged big block engine sets high and mighty in this 1969 Z/28 Camaro. It not only looks impressive, but runs the quarter mile at speeds not seen from your everyday street cars. This and many other custom rods lined the asphalt rows that run perpendicular to the beach.
What would a car show be without having one of America’s iconic classics? The 1955 Chevy {shown right} had a rebuilt- super modified engine and at the same time, had most of its original body shape with only a few modifications. The orange-yellow two tone paint job was enhanced with several layers of clearcoat finish. I could see myself cruising in this awesome classic!
I am not quite sure, but I think the truck shown left is a 1970 Chevy Step-Side pickup. This supper-charged truck has several body modifications that are very eye appealing.
Beside the manufactured style cars, there were several prototype roadsters. Some custom rod builders like to create their own style of show cars. They will take handmake body parts and design what is called a one-of-a-kind roadster.
This 1963 customized Ford Galaxy is dressed out in Pink Panther styled attire. You can’t miss it!
The Galaxy’s unofficial namesake sits in the back seat waiting to go cruising!
I really like this 1936 two-toned Ford 4-door Sedan. It looks to have had an off-the-frame resto with a modified V8 Flathead engine.
There were so many classics, street rods and custom cars on display. What’s nice about a show like this is people get to meet the owners and discuss their love for cars. This is the true meaning of “Talking Shop!”
I could easily go on-and-on talking about how much fun I had at The Endless Summer Cruisin Car Show! Just seeing all these generations of vehicles in one place was absolutely amazing. With that said, the following video will give you a more visual and true sense of what it was like being there. Stay tuned!
