We here at ‘You, Me and The Dock’ are revisiting Belize’s Caye Caulker. Many of you, especially our newest subscribers and followers, haven’t had the opportunity to read many of our earlier adventures.
After deciding to retire from our jobs, Belize was our first stop on a three month tour of North and Central America. It was quite the adventure if I do say so myself.
We flew out of Southwest Florida to Belize City. From there we took a boat to Ambergris Caye. Here is where we based ourselves for the month of August. I guess we really didn’t think this trip through very well. Central America in the summer months is very hot. However, we dodged the snowbirds and seasonal vacationers.
While staying in Ambergris Caye, we took a day trip to Caye Caulker. Unlike the elongated peninsula like island of Ambergris Caye, Caye Caulker is much smaller. We took a water taxi from Ambergris Caye over to this quaint and a bit more rustic island community. There are no paved roads, swanky restaurants or modern structures. As a matter of fact, Caye Caulker is known for it’s laidback and do as you may lifestyle!
After cruising the beach and taken in the vibes, it was time for a refreshing dip in the Caribbean Sea. Without ruining the blog article itself, we had a fantastic time relaxing and enjoying the simple life. Whoever said, “You need a 5-star resort, fancy restaurants, and name brand shopping to have fun. “Siting on a worn out lounge chair and sipping on a cold beverage by the water was perfectly fine for us!”
By selecting the attached link – Caye Caulker, Belize, you can join us in this exciting adventure. We are pretty sure that you will enjoy this “Off the beaten path” destination. Stay tuned for more revisits and future experiences coming to “You, Me and The Dock!”
