Denver’s Botanical Gardens presents the Rocky Mountain Region’s first major outdoor exhibition of artwork by celebrated American artist, Dale Chihuly. Chihuly’s sculptures – ranging in size and form add bold colors and dramatic beauty to the Gardens’ 24-acre urban oasis. Chihuly Nights is an exhibit that when darkness falls upon the sculptures, they are illuminated by lights to create a magical walk. The darkened paths explode into colorful and brilliant bold lighted sculptures. I had the privilege of seeing the exhibit both during day and evening hours. Chihuly is credited with revolutionizing the Studio Glass movement and elevating the perception of the glass medium from the realm of craft to fine art. He is renowned for ambitious architectural installations around the world in historic cities, museums and gardens. Visit

March 20, 2015. The total phase of the eclipse could not been seen in its entirety from Austria. However, it could be observed as a partial solar eclipse. This particular photo was taken in the public square located at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria. Named after Emperor Joseph II Josefsplatz, it is considered one of the finest courtyards in Vienna. The outreached hand seems to hold the shadowed sphere that is intercepting the suns glow.
