When looking back at our past travels, You, Me and The Dock have taken our readers on quite a few exciting journeys. For example; while living in Mexico, we had the opportunity to meet a group of Mayan descendants who perform traditional dances in Parque Fundadores – a seaside park. The time we spent in Playa del Carmen was a memorable one to say the least!
Besides writing about my own adventures, several followers have contributed as well. One of those contributors is John “Wilderness King” Brooks. He provided several articles highlighting Colorado’s Rocky Mountain Region.
John introduced us to the “Cumberland Pass“. His amazing tour included an abandoned mine and it’s relics. Being the Wilderness King, he didn’t hesitate a bit showing us the inside. Go to our site and drop down to Colorado and checkout more of John’s awesome adventures!
At one time, You, Me and The Dock had a staff of contributing writers and photographers. Their adventures took us all around the world. One of those adventurous people was Gay Isis, a.k.a “Silver Locks”. She took us to many far-away places that included China and the Philippines.
Gay’s travels also took her to places like Costa Rica. She titled her 2-part series to this popular destination, “Pura Vida!” The creativity in her dialog and featured photos will keep your attention throughout the entire trip!
There is nothing better than checking out the local cuisine when visiting other destinations. Gay’s trip to Portland, Maine, which she titled “The Land of the Lobstah“, gave us a fresh taste of one of the world’s most desirable crustaceans. The only thing this photo is missing is some drawn butter! Scrum delicious if I do say so myself!
This is only one of the many fantastic trips Gay and her husband took when deciding to retire and see the world. Gay’s South Pacific Island tour, “A trip of a Lifetime” is a three part series that includes China and several of it’s provinces. It was a once in a lifetime adventure and a must read series!
When Gay took on her new surname, Silver locks, she joined up with a group of ladies who belonged to “Going Gray Gracefully!”
After telling her story, a successful model by the name of Victoria Maria reached out to Gay. Victoria invited Gay to appear in her upcoming documentary titled, Gray is the New Blonde. Without hesitation, Gay flew out to LA and accepted the offer. The rest is history.
We here at ‘You, Me and The Dock’ would like to recognize one more writer who shared his travel experiences. Paul Scopel, who is a published author and literal genius, shared several of his overseas adventures.
Paul is a seasoned traveler and especially when it come to touring Europe. He knows how and what to see when it comes to points of interest. Paul also speaks Italian, which helps immensely when traveling through Italy.
One of my favorite adventures is when Paul toured the southwestern region of Campania. This particular trip took us to some of Italy’s most beautiful destination like Salerno, Mozzarella and the Amalfi Coast. Paul Scopel and yes, he is a distant cousin, took exceptional photos and key notes. Once he was stateside and being a published author, Paul sat down and wrote about his recent trip. He was very descriptive when giving a realistic look at daily life in an typical Italian city.
Italian cuisine is some of the most sought after in today’s dining world. On one of Paul’s many trips to Italy, he visited Emilia-Romagna region. The city of Parma is where Parmesan Cheese and Parma Ham are made.
Paul loves his food and has reported on a variety of cuisines throughout his tours. When reading his Eating our way through the heart of Italy, your taste buds will start to tingle. Thank you Paul for sharing.
